Ignition Coil Power Source & Ground
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Nissan Xterra, 2003 Nissan Sentra, 2003 Nissan Pathfinder, 2003 Nissan Murano, and 2003 Nissan Maxima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Disconnect 3-pin ignition coil harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Red wire on Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder and Sentra 2.5L, Green/White wire on Sentra 1.8L and White/Blue wire on 350Z) at ignition coil harness connector.
- If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, check continuity of entire circuit between battery and ignition coil, including fusible link and ignition switch. See appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Turn ignition off. Check continuity between ground and ignition coil connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). If continuity is not present, repair ground circuit between ignition coil connector and ground. Repeat test for remaining coils.
