Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Check for poor connection at PCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and poor terminal connection. Inspect wiring harness for damage. TP and MAP sensors share a 5-volt reference signal. If TP and MAP sensor DTCs are set, check 5-volt reference signal circuit. If connections and harness appear okay, observe TP and MAP displays on scan tool while moving all related harnesses and connectors. A change in scan tool display may indicate a fault. Check for MAP signal out of range or faulty MAP sensor by comparing scan tool values of a known-good similar vehicle. If DTC cannot be duplicated, FAILURE RECORDS data can be used in determining vehicle mileage since DTC was last set.
