Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check for AV Switch

  1. CHECK FUSE 

    Make sure the following fuses of the AV switch are not blown.

    FUSES SPECIFICATION

    Terminals Power source Fuse No.
    Connector Terminal
    M98 1 Battery power 19
    2 ACC power 4

    OK or NG 

    OK: GO TO 2.

    NG: If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to , "POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT ".

  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect AV switch connector.
    2. Check voltage between connector terminals and ground as follows.
      POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

      Terminals Ignition switch position
      (+) (-) OFF ACC ON
      Connector Terminal
      M98 1 Ground Battery voltage Battery voltage Battery voltage
      2 0V Battery voltage Battery voltage

    OK or NG 

    OK: GO TO 3.

    NG: Check harness for open between AV switch and fuse.

  3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check continuity between AV switch and ground as follows.
      AV SWITCH AND GROUND

      Terminals Ignition switch Continuity
      Connector Terminal (-)
      M98 5 Ground OFF Yes

    OK or NG 

    OK: Inspection End.

    NG: Repair or replace harness.
