DTC Confirmation Test "B"

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR mode, and read engine coolant temperature. If engine coolant temperature is less than 194°F (90°C), go to next step. If engine coolant temperature is not less than 194°F (90°C), turn ignition off, and allow engine to cool.
  2. Start engine. Drive vehicle at a speed of more than 43 MPH for 100 consecutive seconds. This may be accomplished in shop by raising drive wheels. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
