DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Use the following test to check overall function of HO2S1 circuit. During this test, 1st trip DTC may not be confirmed.
CAUTION:
DO NOT use ECM ground terminals when measuring voltage.
- Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. On 2.4L models, measure voltage between ground and ECM terminal No. 50 by backprobing. See Figure or Figure . See Figure . On 3.3L models, measure voltage between ground and ECM terminal No. 50 (bank 1) or No. 51 (bank 2) by backprobing.
- On all models, while observing voltmeter, increase engine speed to 2000 RPM. Voltage should not remain in the .2-.4 volt range. If voltage is not as specified, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. If voltage is as specified, system is okay at this time.
