DTC Confirmation Test "A"

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Ensure engine coolant temperature is less than 122°F (50°C). Start engine and let it idle for at least 8 seconds.
  2. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, turn ignition off, wait at least 5 seconds and go to appropriate DTC CONFIRMATION TEST "B".
