DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Use the following test to check overall function of PNP switch circuit. During this test, DTC may not be confirmed.
CAUTION:
DO NOT use ECM ground terminals when measuring voltage.
- To check overall function of PNP switch circuit, turn ignition on. Measure voltage between body ground and ECM terminal No. 22 (Blue/Black wire) by backprobing. See Figure or Figure . See Figure .
- When transmission is in Park or Neutral, voltage should be about zero volts. On A/T models, when transmission is not in Park or Neutral, battery voltage should exist. When transmission is not in Park or Neutral, voltage should be about 5 volts. On all models, if voltage is as specified, system is okay at this time. If voltage is not as specified, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE.
