Using CONSULT-II

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Nissan Altima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Perform accelerator pedal released position learning, see ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING .
  2. Perform throttle valve closed position learning, see THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING .
  3. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
  4. Check that all items listed under PREPARATION  are in good order.
  5. Select "IDLE AIR VOL LEARN" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode.
  6. Touch "START" and wait 20 seconds.
  7. Ensure that "CMPLT" is displayed on CONSULT-II screen. If "CMPLT" is not displayed, idle air volume learning will not be carried out successfully. In this case, find the cause of the incident by referring to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
  8. Rev up the engine 2 or 3 times and ensure that idle speed and ignition timing are within specification. See Fig 1.
