Diagnostic Aids
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Before replacing any components that scan tool suggested are faulty, check all power and ground circuits. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
article.
A short to voltage in one of the sensor inputs may cause one or more of the following DTCs to be set:
- P0108/P1106
- P0113/P1111
- P0118/P1115
- P0123/P1121
- P0463
An open in the sensor ground circuit between the PCM and the splice will cause one or more of the following DTCS to be set:
- P0108/P1106
- P0113/P1111
- P0118/P1115
- P0453/P0463
A short to ground in the 5-volt reference "A" circuit will cause one or more of the following DTCs to be set:
- P0107/P1107
- P0112/P1112
- P0117/P1114
- P0122/P1122
- P0405
- P0454/P0462
- P0532
An intermittent problem can be caused by:
- Poor connection at PCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and poor terminal connection. Inspect wiring harness for damage.
- Inspect wiring harness for damage, misrouted harness, rubbed-through wire insulation or broken wire inside insulation. If harness is not damaged, use scan tool to observe an affected sensor display parameter, while moving wiring harness related to following sensors:
- FVP sensor.
- ECT sensor.
- MAP sensor.
- EGR pintle position sensor.
- TP sensor.
- A/C Pressure sensor.
