Diagnostic Procedure For Intake Sensor

SYMPTOM: Intake sensor circuit is open or shorted. (56 or 57 is indicated on front air control as a result of conducting Self-diagnosis).
- CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN INTAKE SENSOR AND GROUND
- Disconnect intake sensor connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage between intake sensor harness connector M305 terminal 2 (R/W) and ground.

Approx. 5V
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 2.
- NG: GO TO 4.
- CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN INTAKE SENSOR AND FRONT AIR CONTROL
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect front air control connector.
- Check continuity between intake sensor harness connector M305 terminal 1 (O/B) and front air control harness connector M49 terminal 21 (O/B).
- Continuity should exist.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 3.
- NG: Repair harness or connector.
- CHECK INTAKE SENSOR
Refer to "INTAKE SENSOR ".
OK or NG
- OK:
- Replace front air control. Refer to "FRONT AIR CONTROL ".
- Go to self-diagnosis "A/C SYSTEM SELF-DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION " and perform self-diagnosis.
- NG:
- Replace intake sensor.
- Go to self-diagnosis "A/C SYSTEM SELF-DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION " and perform self-diagnosis.
- OK:
- CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN INTAKE SENSOR AND FRONT AIR CONTROL
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect front air control connector.
- Check continuity between intake sensor harness connector M305 terminal 2 (R/W) and front air control harness connector M49 terminal 9 (R/W).Fig 4: Checking Circuit Continuity Between Intake Sensor Harness Connector M305 Terminal 2 & Front Air Control Harness Connector M49 Terminal 9

- Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between intake sensor harness connector M305 terminal 2 (R/W) and ground.
Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
- OK:
- Replace front air control. Refer to "FRONT AIR CONTROL ".
- Go to self-diagnosis "A/C SYSTEM SELF-DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION " and perform self-diagnosis.
- NG: Repair harness or connector.
