Anti-Theft System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus RX 300 and 2002 Lexus RX 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When the system is set to the anti-theft mode and any of the following conditions are met, the system sounds the horns and flashes the headlights and taillights for approximately 1 minute.

At the same time the system locks all doors (if all doors are not locked at once, the system repeats door locking operation every 0.55 seconds during the 1 minute alarm time).

There are 2 modes in this system, which are active mode and passive mode.

All initial settings are performed in active mode. It can be switched to passive mode by specified operation.

Condition

There are 4 conditions in this system which are disarming condition, disarming preparation condition, arming condition and alarming condition.

  1. Disarming Condition

    • When a user is near the vehicle.
    • When the alarming function does not operate.
    • When anti-theft function is not performed.
  2. Disarming Preparation Condition

    • Time from when a user locks a door to when they leave the vehicle.
    • Time until transferring to disarming condition.
    • Anti-theft function is not performed.
  3. Arming Condition

    • When a user leaves the vehicle completely.
    • When anti-theft function is possible.
  4. Alarming Condition

    Once theft is detected, light and sound are used to inform people around the vehicle.
    • Alarming method is horn, security horn, headlight and taillight.
    • Alarming time is 60 seconds.
    • Alarming output is a continuous 0.25 seconds when ON and 0.25 seconds when OFF.

In the arming condition when either of the doors is unlocked and with no key in the key cylinder, a force lock signal is output.
