Key Switch (Insert) Check (Floor Shift)

- CHECK KEY SWITCH AND KEY LOCK SOLENOID INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
Check key switch "KEY ON SW" in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Refer to "DATA MONITOR ".
- When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:
KEY ON SW: ON
- When key is removed from ignition key cylinder:
KEY ON SW: OFF
Without CONSULT-II
Check voltage between BCM connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.
CONNECTOR TERMINAL VOLTAGE REFERENCEConnector Terminal Condition Voltage (V) (+) (-) M18 37 Ground Key is inserted. Battery voltage Key is removed. 0 OK or NG
OK: Key switch (insert) circuit is OK.
NG: GO TO 2.
- When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:
- CHECK KEY SWITCH (INSERT)
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect key switch and key lock solenoid connector.
- Check continuity between key switch and key lock solenoid terminals 3 and 4.

CONNECTOR TERMINAL CONTINUITY REFERENCETerminals Condition Continuity 3 - 4 Key is inserted. Yes Key is removed. No
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 3.
NG: Replace key switch and key lock solenoid.
- CHECK KEY SWITCH AND KEY LOCK SOLENOID CIRCUIT
- Disconnect BCM connector.
- Check continuity between the BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 and key switch and key lock solenoid harness connector M27 terminal 4.
- Check continuity between BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 (B/R) and ground.
37 - 4: Continuity should exist
37 - Ground: Continuity should not exist
OK or NG
OK: Check the following:
- 10A fuse [No. 19, located in fuse block (J/B)]
- Harness for open or short between key switch and key lock solenoid and fuse
NG: Repair or replace harness.
