Operating Check Mode

Operating check mode allows self-diagnosis of the automatic back door system.
To activate operating check mode on the automatic back door, perform the following steps:
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Turn automatic door main switch OFF (system cancelled).
- Place A/T selector lever in P position.
- Using the inside emergency release lever, open the back door.
- Have an assistant press and hold the back door close switch.
- While the assistant continues to hold the back door close switch, turn ignition switch ON (DO NOT start engine).
- After approximately 5 seconds, the back door warning chime will sound for 0.5 seconds.
- Release the back door close switch.
- Within 8 seconds of the back door warning chime sounding, press the automatic door main back door open/close switch 5 times in rapid succession.
- After approximately 5 seconds, the back door warning chime will sound for 1 second.
- Release the automatic door main back door open/close switch.
- Immediately close the back door manually.
- Turn automatic door main switch ON.
- Open and close the back door with the automatic door main back door open/close switch to activate operating check mode.
Self-diagnosis results are indicated by the back door warning chime.
