Section 1928 (Air Conditioning): Condenser: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  3. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler condenser.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
      NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  4. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe from the cooler condenser.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe.
      NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 brackets.

  6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock.
  7. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  )

  9. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER 
    1. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and radiator support upper.

  10. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the cooler condenser.
