Vehicle Speed Signal Check for NAVI Control Unit

  1. CHECK HARNESS 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect NAVI control unit connector M97 and unified meter and A/C amp. connector M50.
    3. Check continuity between NAVI control unit harness connector M97 (B) terminal 66 and unified meter and A/C amp. harness connector M50 (A) terminal 26.

      Continuity should exist. 

    4. Check continuity between NAVI control unit harness connector M97 (B) terminal 66 and ground.

      Continuity should not exist.

    OK or NG 

    OK: GO TO 2.

    NG: Repair harness.

  2. CHECK 1: VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL 
    1. Connect NAVI control unit connector M97 and unified meter and A/C amp. connector M50.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check voltage between NAVI control unit harness connector M97 terminal 66 and ground.

      Approx. 3.5V or more

    OK or NG 

    OK: GO TO 3.

    NG: Replace NAVI control unit. Refer to "NAVI CONTROL UNIT ".

  3. CHECK 2: VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL 
    1. Drive vehicle at a constant speed.
    2. Check signal between NAVI control unit harness connector M97 terminal 66 and ground with CONSULT-III or oscilloscope.

      66 - Ground: Refer to  "TERMINALS AND REFERENCE VALUE FOR NAVI CONTROL UNIT ".

    OK or NG 

    OK: Replace NAVI control unit. Refer to "NAVI CONTROL UNIT ".

    NG: Check combination meter system. Refer to "VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL INSPECTION ".
