Using Consult Tester

  1. After repairing system, connect both battery cables. Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located on left side of instrument panel, using CONSULT CONVERTER. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START (NISSAN BASED VHCL). Touch AIRBAG. Touch SELF-DIAG (CURRENT). If no fault message malfunction is detected, repair is complete. Touch ERASE to erase problem retained in memory. If trouble code is not erased, AIR BAG warning light will continue to indicate a malfunction.
  2. If fault message is displayed, either malfunction has not been repaired, or another malfunction is detected. Repair malfunction as necessary.
  3. Touch BACK. Touch SELF DIAG (PAST). Ensure no self-diagnostic fault message is present. Touch BACK until SELECT SYSTEM appears. Turn off CONSULT tester. Disconnect CONSULT tester from DLC. Turn ignition off.
