With Consult Tester

  1. After system is repaired, connect both battery cables. Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located on left side of instrument panel, using CONSULT CONVERTER. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START (NISSAN BASED VHCL) on CONSULT tester. Touch AIR BAG. Touch SELF-DIAG (CURRENT). If no fault message is present, repair is complete. Go to next step. If fault message is present, problem has not been repaired or another problem is present. Go to PRESENT FAULT MESSAGES  . Complete required repair.
  2. Touch ERASE on CONSULT tester. Touch BACK until SELECT DIAG MODE appears. Touch SELF-DIAG (PAST). Ensure no fault message is present. Touch BACK until SELECT SYSTEM appears. This returns system to USER mode from DIAGNOSIS mode. Turn ignition off. Turn off CONSULT tester. Disconnect CONSULT tester from DLC. Verify AIR BAG warning light is functioning correctly. Go to SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
