Shift Cable

NOTE: Move gearshift lever through all gear positions. If each detent cannot be felt and gearshift lever pointer does not align with each position indicator, adjust shift cable.

Place gearshift lever in "P" position. Ensure transaxle is fully engaged in Park. Loosen shift cable lock nut and place manual shaft in Park. Pull shift cable with a force of 2.2 lbs. (2.98 N.m) in direction of arrow. See Fig 1 . Tighten shift cable lock nut. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Move gearshift lever from "P" to "1" position. Ensure gearshift lever moves smoothly. Apply grease to contacting areas of gearshift lever and cable.
