DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Infiniti Q45. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Use the following test to check overall function of EVAP-CVCV circuit. During this test, DTC may not be confirmed.
  1. Disconnect hose from water separator. See Figure. Disconnect EVAP-CVCV harness connector. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage to EVAP-CVCV terminals. See Figure. Air should not flow through EVAP-CVCV. Remove jumper wires. Air should flow.
  2. If operation is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If operation is as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (DTC P0440 & P1440)  under DTC P0440, P0455 OR P1440: EVAP CONTROL SYSTEM.
