Passenger-side AIR Bag Module

- Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove passenger-side air bag module from vehicle and place module on a clean, dry, work bench with trim cover facing upward. See PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Drill a 0.335" (8.5 mm) diameter hole in Air Bag Module Bracket (J41246), at position appropriate for mounting air bag module in two places. Firmly secure air bag module bracket in a vise.
- Attach air bag module to air bag module bracket with two 8mm bolts. See Fig 1 . Position fully charged 12-volt battery at least 16 feet (5 m) from deployment area. Connect Air Bag Deployment Tool (J38381) to air bag module connector. See Fig 2 . Connect Red deployment tool clip to positive battery terminal and Black deployment tool clip to negative battery terminal.
- Ensure deployment tool power light glows Green. If deployment tool power light glows Red, reverse battery connections and recheck light. Ensure no one is within 16 feet (5 m) of air bag module. Press deployment tool button to instantly deploy air bag.
