Tachometer System

Check if tachometer fluctuates when the engine starts.

Is the fluctuation acceptable? 

• YES: GO TO 2.
• NO: GO TO  3.

1. Select "ENGINE" on CONSULT-II.
2. Using "ENG SPEED" on "DATA MONITOR", compare the value of "DATA MONITOR" with tachometer pointer of combination meter.

   OK or NG 

   • OK: GO TO 3.
   • NG: Replace the combination meter. Refer to "COMBINATION METER ".

3. ECM SYSTEM INSPECTION 

   Perform ECM self-diagnosis.

   OK or NG 

   • OK: Replace combination meter. Refer to "COMBINATION METER ".
   • NG: Go to ECM trouble diagnosis. Refer to TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS (QR25DE) or TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS (VQ35DE) .
