Diagnostic Procedure
- CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH OVERALL FUNCTION-I
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Select "SNOW MODE SW" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
- Check "SNOW MODE SW" indication under the following conditions.
ITEM CONDITION CHARTCondition INDICATION Snow mode switch: ON ON Snow mode switch: OFF OFF OK or NG
OK: GO TO 2.
NG: GO TO 3.
- CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH OVERALL FUNCTION-II
- Start engine.
- Check the snow mode indicator in the combination meter under the following condition.
CONDITION CHARTCondition INDICATION Snow mode switch: ON ON Snow mode switch: OFF OFF OK or NG
OK: INSPECTION END
NG: GO TO 3.
- CHECK GROUND CONNECTIONS
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Loosen and retighten three ground screws on the body.
Refer to "GROUND INSPECTION ".
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 4.
NG: Repair or replace ground connections.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT-I
- Disconnect combination meter harness connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage between combination meter terminal 25 and ground under the following conditions with CONSULT-II or tester.

OK or NG
OK: GO TO 8.
NG: GO TO 5.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT-II
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect snow mode switch.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage between snow mode switch terminal 2 and ground with CONSULT-II or tester.
Voltage: Battery voltage.

OK or NG
OK: GO TO 7.
NG: GO TO 6.
- DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART
Check the following.
- 10A fuse
- Fuse block (J/B) M1
- Harness for open or short between snow mode switch and fuse.
Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH OUT PUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Check harness continuity between snow mode switch terminal 1 and combination meter terminal 25.
Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .
Continuity should exist.
- Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 8.
NG: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK SNOW MODE INDICATOR LAMP INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect snow mode switch harness connector.
- Check harness continuity between snow mode switch terminal 4 and combination meter terminal 25.
Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .
Continuity should exist.
- Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 9.
NG: Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK SNOW MODE INDICATOR LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Check harness continuity between snow mode switch terminal 3 and ground.
Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .
Continuity should exist.
- Also check harness for short to power.
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 10.
NG: Repair open circuit or short to power in harness or connectors.
- Check harness continuity between snow mode switch terminal 3 and ground.
- CHECK SNOW MODE INDICATOR LAMP
- Check harness continuity between snow mode switch terminals 3 and 4.
Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .
Continuity should exist.
- Also check harness for short to ground or short to power.
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 11.
NG: Replace snow mode switch.
- Check harness continuity between snow mode switch terminals 3 and 4.
- CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH
Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION ".
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 12.
NG: Replace snow mode switch.
- CHECK COMBINATION METER
Refer to "COMBINATION METERS ".
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 13.
NG: Replace combination meter.
- CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR INTERMITTENT INCIDENT ".
