Diagnosis Procedure
Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Perform initialization with CONSULT. Re-register all mechanical keys.
For initialization and registration of mechanical key. Refer to CONSULT Immobilizer mode and follow the on-screen instructions.
Can the system be initialized and can steering lock be released with re-registered mechanical key?
YES
Steering lock solenoid was unregistered.
NO
GO TO STEP 2
- CHECK STEERING LOCK SOLENOID POWER SUPPLY-1
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect steering lock solenoid connector.
- Check voltage between steering lock solenoid harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 3
NO
Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK STEERING LOCK SOLENOID GROUND CIRCUIT
Check continuity between steering lock solenoid harness connector and ground.

GO TO STEP 4
NO
Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK STEERING LOCK SOLENOID COMMUNICATION CIRCUITS
- Disconnect Intelligent Key unit connector.
- Check continuity between steering lock solenoid connector (A) M15 terminals 2, 3 and Intelligent Key unit connector (B) M70 terminals 1, 32.Fig 3: Checking Continuity Between Steering Lock Solenoid Connector M15 Terminals 2, 3 And Intelligent Key Unit Connector M70 Terminals 1, 32

GO TO STEP 5
NO
Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT POWER SUPPLY-2
- Connect Intelligent Key unit connector.
- Check voltage between Intelligent Key unit harness connector and ground.

YES
GO TO STEP 6
NO
Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- CHECK STEERING LOCK SOLENOID COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT
- Connect steering lock solenoid connector.
- Using an oscilloscope, check voltage between Intelligent Key unit connector and ground.
