Disassembly And Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove the front seat assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - SEAT ASSEMBLY .
  2. Remove the headrest.
  3. Release the lower seatback trim retainer straps (D) from the seat frame assembly.

  4. Unzip the seatback zippers (B), then release J-hook retainers (C) and (A).
  5. Unclip the side air bag harness from the seat frame assembly.
    NOTE:

    Take note of harness routing and attachment location for accurate installation.

  6. Disconnect the harness connector from the seatback heater (if equipped).
  7. Remove the seatback assembly from the seat frame assembly.
    1. Release the headrest holder locks as shown and remove the headrest holders.

      CAUTION:

      Before removing/installing the headrest holder, check its orientation (front/rear and right/left).

    2. Remove and discard the side air bag module nuts (A).

      CAUTION:

      Do not reuse the side air bag module nuts.

      (1): Side air bag module

    3. Disengage the side air bag module studs from the seat frame assembly and lift the seatback trim and seatback pad as an assembly from the seat frame assembly.
  8. Separate the seatback trim from the seatback pad.
    1. Open the seatback trim and release the side air bag module studs (A) from the holes in the chute (B).

    2. Pull the side air bag module (1) out of the chute (B) and remove from the seatback trim.
      CAUTION:
      • Replace the side air bag module if it has been dropped or sustained an impact.

      • Do not strike the side air bag module.
    3. Remove the hog rings, release the hook fastener (A) and separate the seatback trim from the seatback pad.

      SHIKAKU-H : Hog ring

      NOTE:

      Remove all pieces of hog rings and discard them.



  1. Remove the front seat assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - SEAT ASSEMBLY .
  2. Remove the seat cushion outer finisher (LH).
    1. For manual seat:
      1. Release pawls and remove the lift lever finisher (2).

      2. Remove two screws and the lift lever (1).
      3. Release pawl and remove the recline lever (3) as shown.
      4. Release pawls and pull to release the metal clips then remove the seat cushion outer finisher (4).

    2. For power seat:

      1. Remove screw (A).
      2. Release metal clips (B) from the seat cushion frame (2), as shown.

        SHIKAKU-H : Metal clip

      3. Release pawls to separate.

        MARU-H : Pawl

      4. Disconnect the harness connector (A) from the power seat switch (1).

      5. Remove screws (B) if necessary to replace the power seat switch (1).
      6. Disconnect the harness connector (D) from the lumbar support switch (2) (if equipped).
      7. Release pawls (C) if necessary to replace the lumbar support switch (2) (if equipped).
  3. Remove the seat cushion outer finisher (RH) (1).

    1. Remove the seat belt buckle (2) and position aside. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
    2. Release pawls and pull to release the metal clips.

      SHIKAKU-H : Metal clip

      MARU-H : Pawl

  4. Remove the seat cushion trim (1) and seat cushion pad as an assembly.

    ARROW : Front

    1. Release J-clip retainer (A) from the seat frame assembly.
    2. Release J-clip retainer (B) from the seat frame assembly.
    3. Release J-clip retainer (D) from the seat frame assembly.
    4. Release retainer strip (C) from the seat frame assembly.
    5. Disconnect the harness connector from the seat cushion heater (if equipped).
      NOTE:

      Take note of harness routing and attachment location for accurate installation.

    6. Remove the seat cushion trim and seat cushion pad as an assembly from the seat frame assembly.
  5. Remove the hog rings, release the hook fastener (A) and separate the seat cushion trim from the seat cushion pad.

    SHIKAKU-H : Hog ring

    NOTE:

    Remove all pieces of hog rings and discard them.
