Removal And Installation: Removal
- Perform a CPU memory erase on the EPS with CONSULT before removal.CAUTION:
- Disconnect battery negative terminal before removing the EPS control unit.
- Do not shock, drop or hit the EPS control unit.
- Do not allow any water or other liquids to contact the EPS control unit. Do not expose the EPS control unit to a severe temperature changes to avoid condensation.
- Do not disassemble the EPS control unit, and do not remove the EPS motor, torque sensor, harness and connectors.
- Remove instrument lower panel LH. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect harness connectors from EPS control unit.CAUTION:
Hold and pull the connector housing, do not pull on harness when disconnecting connectors. Also, do not grip, collapse or apply excessive force to the connector.
- Remove screws and EPS control unit from steering column assembly.
- Remove screws and bracket from steering column assembly if necessary.
