Component

Description

1.

Intelligent Key unit

The Intelligent Key Unit receives the push-button ignition switch input and transmits the signal to the BCM and IPDM E/R via CAN communication.

Refer to Component Location for detailed installation location.

2.

TCM (with CVT)

Refer to Component Location for detailed installation location.

3.

IPDM E/R

The IPDM E/R receives ignition relay-1 (IPDM E/R) control signal and push-button ignition switch ON signal via CAN communication from the Intelligent Key unit, and controls the ignition relay-1 (built into IPDM E/R).

4.

BCM

  • The BCM controls the power distribution system.
  • The BCM judges the ignition status and vehicle condition.
  • The BCM checks the ignition status internally.

5.

Push-button ignition switch

Refer to Push-Button Ignition Switch .

6.

CVT shift selector (detent switch)

(with CVT)

The CVT shift selector (park position switch) sends the park position switch signal to the BCM.

7.

Transmission range switch

(with CVT)

The transmission range switch transmits P (park) and N (neutral) signals to the IPDM E/R.

8.

Park/neutral position (PNP) switch

(with M/T)

The park/neutral position (PNP) switch transmits the N (neutral) signal to the IPDM E/R.

9.

Starter cut relay (in fuse block)

The BCM controls the starter cut relay according to the request signal from the Intelligent Key unit and push-button ignition switch.

10.

Stop lamp switch

The stop lamp switch detects that the brake pedal is depressed and transmits the signal to the BCM.

11.

Accessory relay-1

[in fuse block (J/B)]

  • The accessory relay-1 is controlled by the BCM.
  • The accessory relay-1 supplies accessory power supply or push-button ignition ON signal to each ECU when push-button ignition is ON.
  • The BCM compares status of accessory relay-1 control signal, and the ignition status judged by the push-button ignition switch.

12.

Ignition relay-3

[in fuse block (J/B)]

  • The ignition relay-3 is controlled by the BCM.
  • The Ignition relay-3 supplies ignition ON power supply or ignition ON signal to each ECU and system when the push-button ignition is ON.
  • The BCM compares the status of the ignition relay-3 control signal and ignition status judged by the push-button ignition switch.
  • The BCM monitors the ignition relay-3 operating status by the ignition relay-3 feedback signal.

13.

Ignition relay-2

[in fuse block (J/B)]

  • The ignition relay-2 is controlled by the BCM.
  • The ignition relay-2 supplies ignition ON power supply or ignition ON signal to each ECU and system when the push-button ignition is ON.
  • The BCM compares the status of the ignition relay-2 control signal and ignition status judged by the push-button ignition switch.
  • The BCM monitors the ignition relay-2 operating status by the ignition relay-2 feedback signal.
