Work Procedure (After Replacing ECM)

  1. CHECK OPERATION LOG 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Check Operation Log saved before replacing ECM, according to the procedure of "Programming" in CONSULT Operation Manual.

    NOTE: For the vehicle that the programming is to be performed, check if Operation Log of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is in Saved Data List.

    Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?

    YES

    GO TO 2

    NO

    GO TO 3.

  2. PERFORM ECM PROGRAMMING 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Perform ECM programming, according to "Programming" of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

    CAUTION: During programming, maintain the following conditions:
    • Ignition switch: ON
    • Electric load: OFF
    • Brake pedal: Not depressed
    • Battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

    GO TO 5.

  3. READ IN ECM PART NUMBER BY FAST LINKED 

    Obtain ECM part number by NISSAN PARTS CATALOGUE GLOBAL Web-FAST, according to the procedure of 'FAST linked' in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

    NOTE: 'FAST linked' allows an appropriate programming by obtaining ECM part number from NISSAN PARTS CATALOGUE GLOBAL Web-FAST even when the part number cannot be obtained from the old ECM used before replacing with a new one.

    GO TO 4.

  4. PERFORM ECM PROGRAMMING (FAST LINKED) 

    After replacing ECM, perform the ECM programming. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

    NOTE:
    • Refer to Removal and Installation for replacement of ECM.
    • During programming, maintain the following conditions:
      • Ignition switch: ON
      • Electric load: OFF
      • Brake pedal: Not depressed
      • Battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Be sure to check the value of battery voltage by selecting "BATTERY VOLT" in "Data monitor" of CONSULT.)

    GO TO 5.

  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION OF IVIS (NATS) SYSTEM AND REGISTRATION OF ALL IVIS (NATS) IGNITION KEY IDS 

    Refer to Description .

    GO TO 6.

  6. CHECK ECM DATA STATUS 

    Check if the data is successfully copied from the ECM at Step 1 (before replacement) and saved in CONSULT.

    Is the data saved successfully?

    YES

    GO TO 7.

    NO

    GO TO 8.

  7. WRITE ECM DATA 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Select "WRITING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode of "ENGINE" using CONSULT.
    2. Follow the instruction of CONSULT display.
    NOTE: The data saved by "SAVING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" is written to ECM.

    GO TO 9.

  8. PERFORM VIN REGISTRATION 

    Refer to Description .

    GO TO 9.

  9. PERFORM ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING 

    Perform Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 10.

  10. PERFORM THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING 

    Perform Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 11.

  11. PERFORM ELECTRIC INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL ACTUATOR POSITION LEARNING 

    Perform Electric IVT Control Actuator Position Learning. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 12.

  12. PERFORM IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING 

    Perform Idle Air Volume Learning. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 13.

  13. PERFORM VALVE TIMING OFFSET DATA CLEAR 

    Perform Valve Timing Offset Data Clear. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 14.

  14. PERFORM VALVE TIMING OFFSET DATA WRITING 

    Perform Valve Timing Offset Data Writing. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 15.

  15. ERASE DTC 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. Check "Self-diagnostic result" of "ENGINE".

    Is any DTC detected?

    YES

    Erase DTC.

    NO

    END
