Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
  2. If equipped, remove the telematics control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Disconnect the harness connector from the accelerator position sensor.

    1. Pull the connector lock back to unlock the connector from the accelerator pedal position sensor as shown.
    2. Pull up on the connector to disconnect it from the accelerator pedal position sensor as shown.
  4. Remove the nuts and remove the accelerator pedal..
    CAUTION:
    • Do not disassemble accelerator pedal assembly.
    • Do not drop or impact accelerator pedal assembly.
    • Do not expose accelerator pedal assembly to water.
