Component

Function

1.

Chassis control module

Supplies ground to stop lamp off relay-1.

Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.

2.

Rear door switch RH

Refer to Door Switch for detailed component location.

3.

Front door switch RH

Refer to Door Switch for detailed component location.

4.

Front outside handle RH (outside key antenna)

Refer to Front Door Request Switch (RH) or Outside Key Antenna (RH) for detailed component location.

5.

Power window and door lock/unlock switch RH

Door lock and unlock switch transmits door lock/unlock signal operation to BCM.

Refer to Power Window and Door Lock/unlock Switch RH .

6.

Low tire pressure warning control unit (remote keyless entry receiver)

Refer to Remote Keyless Entry Receiver for detailed component location.

7.

BCM

(Body Control Module)

BCM controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (READY SET FUNCTION), NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [NVIS (NATS)] and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM.

BCM performs the ID verification between BCM and Intelligent Key when the Intelligent Key is carried into the detection area of inside key antenna, and power switch is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, power switch operation is available.

Then, when the power switch is turned to the ON position, BCM performs ID verification between BCM and VCM. If the ID verification result is OK, vehicle can be set to READY.

Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.

8.

VCM

(Vehicle Control Module)

  • VCM controls the vehicle. When power switch is turned to the ON position, BCM starts communication with VCM and performs the ID verification between BCM and VCM.

If the verification result is OK, the vehicle can be set to READY. If the verification result is NG, the vehicle can not be set to READY.

  • VCM detects the shift position, and then transmits the P position signal to BCM and IPDM E/R. And VCM transmits the P/N position signal to BCM.
  • BCM confirms the shift position with the following 4 signals:
    • P position signal from electric shift selector.
    • P/N position signal from electric shift selector.
    • P position signal from IPDM E/R (CAN).

Refer to Component Location (62 kWh Li-ion battery) or Component Location (40 kWh Li-ion battery) for detailed component location.

9.

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) actuator and electronic unit

  • ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) transmits the vehicle speed signal to BCM via CAN communication. BCM also receives the vehicle speed signal from the combination meter via CAN communication.
  • BCM compares both signals to detect the vehicle speed.

Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.

10.

Hood switch

Hood switch transmits hood open/closed signal to BCM.

11.

Horns (low/high)

Horn is operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated.

12.

IPDM E/R

(Intelligent Power Distribution Engine Room)

IPDM E/R activates the internal control circuit to perform the relay ON-OFF control according to the input signals from various sensors and the request signals received from control units via CAN communication.

Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.

13.

Stop lamp switch

Stop lamp switch transmits brake pedal position signal to BCM.

Refer to Stop lamp switch for detailed component location.

14.

Inside key antenna (instrument center)

Refer to Inside Key Antenna (Instrument Center) for detailed component location.

15.

Dongle unit (for Canada)

BCM performs ID verification between BCM and dongle unit. When verification result is OK, BCM permits cranking.

16.

Combination meter

  • Displays each operation method guide and warning for system malfunction.
  • Performs operation method guide and warning with buzzer.
  • Transmits vehicle speed signal to CAN communication line.

Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.
