Removal and Installation

CAUTION:

Perform "ELECTRIC IVT CONTROL ACTUATOR POSITION LEARNING". Refer to Description .

    WITHOUT IDLE START/STOP SYSTEM

    REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect battery negative terminal. Refer to Exploded View .
  2. Remove front wheel and tire. Refer to Removal and Installation
  3. Remove the fuse block cover.
  4. Remove the bolt (A).

  5. Release the pawl and reposition the fuse block (1).

  6. Remove the fender protector (RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  7. Remove nut (A) for fuse block bracket and nut (B) for IPDM E/R cover (lower).

  8. Remove harness retainer (A) and bolt (B) from fuse block bracket (1) and remove fuse block bracket.

  9. Remove IPDM E/R cover.
  10. Release pawls and remove IPDM E/R cover (1).

  11. Disconnect harness connectors (A).

  12. Remove bolts securing IPDM E/R cover (lower) and reposition IPDM E/R cover (lower).
  13. Disconnect harness connectors from electric intake valve timing control module. Refer to Harness Connector (lever locking type).
  14. Remove nuts (A), and remove electric intake valve timing control module (1).

    CAUTION:

    Never touch harness connector pins with bare hands.

INSTALLATION 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
  • Perform "ELECTRIC IVT CONTROL ACTUATOR POSITION LEARNING". Refer to Description .
  • Perform "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL". Refer to Special Repair Requirement .
CAUTION:

Perform "ELECTRIC IVT CONTROL ACTUATOR POSITION LEARNING". Refer to Description .

    WITH IDLE START/STOP SYSTEM

    REMOVAL 

  1. Remove battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove front wheel and tire. Refer to Removal and Installation
  3. Release the pawl and reposition the fuse block (1).

  4. Remove the fender protector (RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  5. Remove nut (A) for IPDM E/R cover (lower).

  6. Remove harness retainer (A) and bolts (B) from fuse block bracket (1) and remove fuse block bracket.

  7. Remove IPDM E/R cover.
  8. Release pawls and remove IPDM E/R cover (1).

  9. Disconnect harness connectors (A).

  10. Remove bolts securing IPDM E/R cover (lower) and reposition IPDM E/R cover (lower).
  11. Disconnect harness connectors from electric intake valve timing control module. Refer to Harness Connector (lever locking type).
  12. Remove nuts (A), and remove electric intake valve timing control module (1).

CAUTION:

INSTALLATION
