Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
- If replacing EPS control unit, perform "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING CONTROL MODULE". Refer to Description .
- Do not shock, drop or hit EPS control unit.
- Do not allow any water or other liquids to contact EPS control unit.
- Do not expose EPS control unit to severe temperature changes to avoid condensation.
- Do not disassemble EPS control unit.
- Do not remove EPS motor, torque sensor, harness and connectors.
- Disconnect battery negative terminal before removing EPS control unit. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Remove the left knee air bag module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect harness connectors (A) from EPS control unit.
- Separate wiring harness from EPS control unit bracket.
- Remove bolts (A) and separate EPS control unit (1) from steering column.
- Remove screws and separate EPS control unit from bracket (if necessary).
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
- Also check that the EPS control unit is installed without pinching or interfering with the harness.

If replacing EPS control unit, perform "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING CONTROL MODULE". Refer to Description .
