DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC No.		CONSULT screen terms (Trouble diagnosis content)		DTC detection condition
U2148	87	CAN comm err (brake control unit) [Controller area network communication error (brake control unit)]		Diagnosis condition	When ignition switch is ON.
				Signal (terminal)	CAN communication signal
				Threshold	When CAN communication signal is not continuously received from ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
				Diagnosis delay time	2 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

CAN communication line
ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)
Power steering control module

FAIL-SAFE

Normal state or constant steering assist level state

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PRECONDITIONING
1. 1. Pull the parking brake switch.
    NOTE: Check to make sure that the parking brake switch indicator is turned ON.
  2. Ignition switch OFF.
  3. Get out of the vehicle and close all doors.
  4. Wait 65 seconds.
    NOTE:
    Check to make sure that the parking brake switch indicator is turned OFF.
    
    If the rear brake calipers are hot, wait up to an hour until parking brake indicator light on the switch turns OFF. Once indicator light on the switch turns OFF, move to next step.

DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
1. CONSULT
  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Perform self-diagnosis for "EPS/DAST 3".
Is DTC "U2148-87" detected?

YES>>

Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure .

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident .

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
