Work Procedure

Work Procedure (Before Replacing ECM)

1. SAVE ECM DATA 

   With CONSULT

   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Reconnect all harness connectors disconnected.
   3. Turn ignition switch ON.
   4. Select "SAVING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode of "ENGINE" using CONSULT.
   5. Follow the instruction of CONSULT display.
   NOTE:

   • Necessary data in ECM is copied and saved to CONSULT.

   >>

   • Replace ECM.
   • After replacing ECM, perform necessary work.
     NOTE:

     • Replace ECM regardless of with or without success in saving data.

Work Procedure (After Replacing ECM)

1. PERFORM ECM PROGRAMMING 

   With CONSULT

   Perform ECM programming, according to "Programming" of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

   CAUTION:

   During programming, maintain the following conditions:

   • Ignition switch: ON
   • Electric load: OFF
   • Brake pedal: Not depressed
   • Battery voltage: 12 - 13. 5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

   >>

   GO TO 2.

2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION OF IVIS (NATS) SYSTEM AND REGISTRATION OF ALL IVIS (NATS) IGNITION KEY IDS 

   Refer to Work Procedure .

   >>

   GO TO 3.

3. CHECK ECM DATA STATUS 

   Check if the data is successfully copied from the ECM at Step 1 (before replacement) and saved in CONSULT.

   Is the data saved successfully?

   YES>>

   GO TO 4.

   NO>>

   GO TO 5.

4. WRITE ECM DATA 

   With CONSULT

   1. Select "WRITING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode of "ENGINE" using CONSULT.
   2. Follow the instruction of CONSULT display.
   NOTE: The data saved by "SAVING DATA FOR REPLC CPU" is written to ECM.

   >>

   GO TO 6.

5. PERFORM VIN REGISTRATION 

   Refer to Description .

   >>

   GO TO 6.

6. WRITING MAC KEY FOR ECM 

   Refer to Description .

   >>

   GO TO 7.

7. PERFORM ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING 

   Refer to Description .

   >>

   GO TO 8.

8. PERFORM THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING 

   Refer to Description .

   >>

   GO TO 9.

9. PERFORM TURBOCHARGER WASTEGATE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE DATA INITIALIZATION 

   Refer to Description .

   >>

   GO TO 10.

10. PERFORM ELECTRIC INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL LEARNING 

    Refer to Description .

    >>

    GO TO 11.

11. PERFORM INJECTOR OFFSET LEARNING 

    Refer to Description .

    >>

    GO TO 12.

12. PERFORM IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING 

    Refer to Description .

    >>

    GO TO 13.

13. PERFORM VCR BASE POSITION LEARNING 

    Refer to Description .

    >>

    GO TO 14.

14. CHANGE ENGINE OIL 

    Change engine oil, then perform ENGINE OIL DATE RESET. Refer to Description .

    NOTE: When replacing ECM, OCS data cannot be transferred. In addition, ENGINE OIL DATE RESET is performed, and therefore oil change is required.

    >>

    GO TO 15.

15. ERASE DTC 

    With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. Check "Self-diagnostic result" of "ENGINE".

    Is any DTC detected?

    YES>>

    Erase DTC.

    NO>>

    END
