CONTROL DESCRIPTION
- Drive mode selector switches driving mode by drive mode select switch installed on center console finisher.
- Drive mode selector starts from STANDARD mode when the power switch ON.
- The vehicle characteristics are controlled from the STANDARD mode to any mode listed below:
SPORT - Adjusts the engine and transmission points for a higher response.
- The setting of the steering system is adjusted to moderately increase steering wheel effort for a sporty feel.
ECO Assists the driver's eco-driving. The engine and transmission points are adjusted for improved fuel economy, providing such a driving features as smooth starting or constant cruising. - For relationship between drive mode and each control item, refer to the following table.
x: Change from STANDARD

ENGINE CHARACTERISTICS
- The engine output characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.
Drive mode select switch Engine output ECO Accelerator opening characteristics is changed. STANDARD Normal SPORT Accelerator opening characteristics is changed and use a high engine performance range. NOTE:After switching mode to a mode that engine output increase, engine output characteristics are changed after releasing the accelerator pedal.
TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS
- The transmission characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.
Drive mode select switch Transmission status ECO TCM controls shift characteristics of transaxle suitable for ECO mode. STANDARD Normal SPORT TCM controls shift characteristics of transaxle suitable for SPORT mode. For details, Refer to System Description .
STEERING CHARACTERISTICS
- The steering characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.
Drive mode select switch Steering status ECO Normal STANDARD Normal SPORT Quick NOTE:Steering characteristics change after mode switching when the steering angle is near the neutral position and the steering wheel is not turning.
INTELLIGENT TRACE CONTROL CHARACTERISTICS
- The intelligent trace control characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.
Drive mode select switch Intelligent trace control status STANDARD Normal ECO Normal SPORT OFF
BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS
- The brake control system characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.
Drive mode select switch Brake control system status ECO Normal STANDARD Normal SPORT - TCS: TCS allows more wheel spin before decreasing engine torque by engine torque control - later intervention.
- Brake limited slip differential (BLSD): Quicker activation of brake limited slip differential (BLSD) control in case of split-mu road surface.
