DOOR CHUCKING NOISE - REPLACE LOCK ASSEMBLY
Model(s): 1986-88 Oldsmobile Toronado
Bulletin No.: 39-2
Section No.: 10
Date: July 28, 1988
SERVICE INFORMATION
Some 1986-88 Toronado models may experience a condition of a chucking noise heard from either one of the doors when driving over bumps. This may be caused by excessive clearance between the door lock striker and the door lock assembly. A new striker bumper, located within the lock assembly, has been released to repair this condition. See Fig 1 . To repair this condition, you must replace the door lock assembly. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the lock assembly.
Refer to Section 5D of the General Motors Body Service Manual for the repair procedure.
