Heater Element Isolation Test
- Disconnect the Heated Seat Control Module connectors C2 and C3.
- Measure the resistance between connector C2, terminals A and B. See Figure or Figure . If the resistance is less than 1 ohm, go to step 4 . If the resistance is not less than 1 ohm, go to the next step.
- Check/repair the wires to the Seat Back Heater for an open. If the wires are OK, replace the open Seat Back Heater.
- Measure the resistance between connector C2, terminal A and ground. If the resistance is less than 1000, go to the next step. If the resistance is not less than 1000, go to step 6 .
- Check/repair the wires to the Seat Back Heaters for a short to ground. If the wires are OK, replace the shorted Seat Back Heater.
- Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminals B and C. If the resistance is 850-1150 ohms, go to step 8 . If the resistance is not 850-1150 ohms, go to the next step.
- Replace the Center Seat Bottom Heater.
- Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminal B and ground. If the resistance is less than 1000, go to the next step. If the resistance is not less than 1000, go to step 10 .
- Replace the Center Seat Bottom Heater.
- Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminals A and D. If the resistance is less than 1 ohm, go to step 12 . If the resistance is not less than 1 ohm, go to the next step.
- Check/repair the wires to the Seat Bottom Heaters for an open. If the wires are OK, replace the open Seat Back Heater.
- Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminal A and ground. If the resistance is less than 1000, go to the next step. If the resistance is not less than 1000, go to step 14 .
- Check/repair the wires to the Seat Bottom Heaters for a short to ground. If the wires are OK, replace the shorted Seat Back Heater.
- Check the Heated Seat Control Module for good terminal contact. If terminal contact is OK, replace the Heated Seat Control Module.
