Test B: Heated Seat Control Module Measurements Incorrect

  1. Reconnect the suspect Heated Seat Control Module Connector.
  2. Disconnect the suspect Heated Seat Switch Connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position.
  4. Move the Head Park Light Switch to PARK.
  5. Measure Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 3 for battery voltage to ground (1). See Fig 1 . For appropriate wiring diagrams, see Figure or Figure . If there is no battery voltage, check the BRN (1463) wire for an open or short to ground.
  6. Measure Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 6 for battery voltage to ground (2). If there is no battery voltage, check the DK BLU (1461) wire for an open or short to ground.
  7. Measure Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 4 for battery voltage to ground (3). If there is no battery voltage, check the LT BLU (1462) wire for an open or short to ground.
  8. Measure Heated Seat Switch Connector terminals 5 and 7 for battery voltage to ground (4). If there is no battery voltage, repair the open in the BLK (152 or 154) wire.
  9. Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
  10. Disconnect the suspect Heated Seat Control Module Switch Connector.
  11. Measure Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 2 for infinite ohms to ground (5). See Fig 2 . If there is not infinite ohms to ground, repair the short to ground in the GRY (1464) wire.
  12. Measure the resistance between Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 2 and Heated Seat Control Module Connector C1 terminal H for less than 5ohm (6). If the resistance is not less than 5 ohms, repair the open in the GRY (1464) wire.
  13. Measure Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 6 for infinite ohms to ground (7). If there is not infinite ohms to ground, repair the short to ground in the BLK (1460) wire.
  14. Measure the resistance between the Heated Seat Switch Connector terminal 3 and Heated Seat Control Module Connector C1 terminal C for less than 5 ohms (8). If the resistance is not less than 5 ohms, repair the open in the BLK (1460) wire.
  15. If all of the measurements are correct, replace the suspect Heated Seat Switch.
