Description & Operation: Notes
WARNING:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN article in this Section before disconnecting battery.
Cruise control system operates a mechanical linkage to throttle by means of a vacuum servo. Cruise Control Module receives input from cruise control switch, brake switch, speed sensor and servo.
Module pulses vent and vacuum solenoid valves in servo. Servo then sets position of throttle to maintain cruise speed. To disengage cruise, cruise control switch must be in OFF position and/or brake pedal must be depressed to vent vacuum in servo to atmosphere.
