BCM Override Parameters:: BS08

OPTION CONTENT No. 2 (OPTION 2) is displayed as number from 0 to 255. Each number is a code which represents option content. BCM uses this value to determine how to operate the displays and electronic controls. Incorrect option values cause many different problems. To determine proper option value add up following options that vehicle is equipped with:

Take total of actual options from above list and compare it with OPTION 2 value. If the two are different, correct OPTION 2 value using following procedure.

To change option content number press WARM or COOL button for override control until desired number appears, (number corresponding to total of actual options) Next, press and hold both LOWER air mode and DEF buttons for 5 seconds, (CRT equipped vehicles use DEFRST and R.DEFG keys). This will reprogram BCM EEPROM to number of options displayed on the IPC.

NOTE: Electronic Control Module (ECM) may also be referred to as Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in diagnostic charts and Figures; terms may be used interchangeably.
