NOTE: Body Control Module (BCM) may also be referred to as Multifunction Alarm, Lock & Lighting (MALL) module.

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system consists of a transmitter and in-vehicle Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module. RFA module receives a signal from transmitter and sends a signal to Body Control Module (MALL) to perform unlock and lock functions. RFA module controls all other RKE functions. The RKE has the following characteristics:

  1. The rear compartment will not open if the following conditions exist:
    • The ignition is ON.
    • The vehicle is not in PARK.
  2. The courtesy lights will not turn ON if the following condition exist:
    • When OFF if currently ON.
    • When lock is pressed.
  3. The courtesy lamps will turn ON for 40 seconds or until one of the following actions occur:
    • The door is opened.
    • The lock switch is pressed.
    • The unlock switch is pressed.
  4. The courtesy lamps will not turn ON when the trunk button is pressed.
