Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage (backprobe) at Brown 24-pin BCM connector terminal B4 (Orange wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 6). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect receiver control module. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and Brown 24-pin BCM connector terminal B4 (Orange wire). If continuity to ground exists, go to next step. If continuity to ground does not exist, go to step 5).
  4. Repair short to ground in Orange wire between Brown 24-pin BCM connector terminal B4 and receiver control module connector terminal No. 2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, go to step 7).
  5. Replace receiver control module. See RECEIVER CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS - BLAZER, BRAVADA, ENVOY, JIMMY, SONOMA & S10 PICKUP article. After replacing receiver control module, go to step 7).
