Shift Cable: Removal

Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Remove the shift cable from the wiring harness clip or strap. Remove the shift cable from the PNP switch. See Fig 1 .
Remove the shift cable from the shift cable bracket. See Fig 2 . Remove the front floor console. See appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
Pull the carpet back to expose the shift cable. Remove the shift cable retaining clip from the console shift control. See Fig 3 .
Remove the shift cable from the console shift control.
Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the hole in the cowl. See Fig 4 . Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the PNP switch.
