4 Cylinder Models
NOTE:
Remove engine and transmission as a unit.
- Mark hinges for reinstallation and remove hood. Drain cooling system and remove hoses from radiator and engine. Remove radiator and air cleaner. Remove air conditioning compressor without disconnecting lines.
- Disconnect all hoses, lines and linkage from engine, carburetor and transmission. Disconnect all electrical leads.
- Raise vehicle and disconnect driveshaft from transmission. Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold and remove air pump.
- Attach lifting fixture to engine and raise slightly to remove motor mounts. Remove engine.
NOTE:
Align dimple on flywheel with indicator on housing before separating engine from transmission.
