Heated Oxygen (O2) Sensor

The oxygen sensor is mounted in the rear exhaust manifold. The sensor monitors the exhaust gas oxygen content and produces a proportional voltage output signal to the SMEC. A low voltage indicates a lean mixture while a high voltage indicates a rich mixture. The O2 sensor is equipped with a heating element which provides with quicker changes when the engine is operating.
