Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Distributor Alignment:

REMOVAL

1. Unclip the two clips holding the distributor cap to the housing, and lift the cap and set aside.
2. Disconnect all distributor wiring connectors.
3. Remove the distributor hold-down nut.
4. Gently slide the distributor form the cylinder head.

INSTALLATION

1. Turn the crankshaft so that the #1 is at top dead center.
2. Align the mating marks on the distributor and the drive gear.
3. Install the distributor into the engine while aligning the line in the distributors hold down flange with the distributor hold down stud.
