Anti-Lock Brake System: Description

Bendix-10 Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is designed to prevent wheel lock-up during heavy braking. This allows operator to maintain steering control, while stopping vehicle in shortest distance possible. Major components consist of the following: hydraulic assembly, 4 wheel speed sensors, Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB), 2 warning lights (Red BRAKE and Amber ANTI-LOCK) and pump/motor assembly. See Figure . ABS has a self-diagnostic system, which detects and trouble shoots system malfunction.
