Test 23A - Testing Body Controller For No Response

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect body controller Blue connector. Body controller is located under left side of instrument panel. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Violet/Brown wire between terminals No. 1 at CCD bus diagnostic connector and No. 7 at body controller Blue connector.
  2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance at White/Black wire between terminals No. 6 at CCD bus diagnostic connector and No. 20 at body controller Blue connector.
  3. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, Reconnect DRB-II. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 19 (Black/Light Green wire) at body controller Blue connector.
  4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Light Green wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, put DRB-II in voltmeter mode. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Probe terminal No. 6 (Dark Blue/White wire) at body controller Blue connector.
  5. If voltage is more than 10 volts, perform TEST 23B . If voltage is less than 10 volts, remove and inspect fuse No. 15 from fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, probe voltage input terminal to fuse No. 15. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Dark Blue/White wire between fuse block and body controller Blue connector. After repair, perform TEST 23B .
  6. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Check connector condition and clean or repair as necessary. Disconnect warning indicator module connector. Warning module is located above instrument cluster. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
  7. Remove and recheck fuse No. 15. If fuse is blown repair short to ground in Dark Blue/White wire. After repair is completed, perform TEST 23B . If fuse is okay, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect warning indictor module connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Remove and recheck fuse No. 15. If use is blown, replace body controller. After repair is completed, perform TEST 23B . If fuse is okay, perform TEST 23B .
