Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure
WARNING:
Release fuel pressure before servicing fuel system components. Service vehicle in well ventilated area. Avoid ignition sources. NEVER smoke while servicing vehicle.
- Disconnect negative (-) battery cable from battery.
- Remove fuel filter cap.
- Remove protective cap from fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail.
- Place the open end of Fuel Pressure Release Hose (C-4799-1) into an approved gasoline container. Connect other end to the fuel pressure test port. Fuel pressure will bleed off through the hose into the gasoline container.
NOTE:
Fuel Gauge (C-4799-A) contains Fuel Pressure Release Hose (C-4799-1).
