Heated Mirror Inoperative
- Turn ignition on. Turn rear window defogger on. If rear window defogger operates properly, go to next step. If rear window defogger does not operate properly, repair rear window defogger as necessary. See appropriate REAR WINDOW DEFOGGERS article.
- Turn ignition off. Access power mirror assembly harness connector. Disconnect power mirror assembly harness connector. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) at power mirror assembly harness connector. See Fig 1
. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between power mirror assembly harness connector and ground.
- Turn ignition on. Turn rear window defogger switch on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Light Blue/Yellow wire) at power mirror assembly harness connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 5
.
- Check power mirror assembly wiring. If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, replace power mirror assembly or mirror glass as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Check fuse No. 20 (10-amp) in fuse block. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short to ground in Light Blue/Yellow wire between fuse block and appropriate power mirror assembly. See appropriate wiring diagram in POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Turn ignition on. Turn rear window defogger switch on. Measure voltage at input side of fuse No. 20. If battery voltage exists, repair open in wiring between fuse block and appropriate power mirror assembly. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Black/White wire between fuse block and rear window defogger switch. See appropriate wiring diagram in POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
