Checking Fluid Level

  1. Park vehicle on level surface. Apply parking brake. Ensure transmission fluid is at normal operating temperature. Start engine and operate at curb idle for at least one minute. Move gearshift lever through all gear ranges, ending in Park.
  2. Check transmission fluid level. Transmission fluid level should be in HOT range (cross hatched area) of dipstick. Add appropriate type of transmission fluid if necessary. See RECOMMENDED FLUID . DO NOT overfill transaxle.
